Hike For Discovery is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's new adventure fundraising program that prepares people to experience a natural wonder in a special way. Our event will be a hike into the Grand Canyon. We provide training for each participant and everything they'll need to make their adventure successful and fun! All participants raise funds to help the Society cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. More than 712,000 Americans are battling these blood cancers. Your donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will help bring them hope and support.
The Society is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. Our mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
As you continue to support your family or friend in his or her Hike For Discovery, you might consider making this your year to complete an endurance event and helping the Society cure cancer. We would love to have you on our TEAM! To learn more, visit our Web site www.hikefordiscovery.org.
Dear Frineds and Family,
As many of you know I have been involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma's Society Team in Training program since Fall of 2000. At that time I had no direct connection to Leukemia or cancer for that matter, that has since changed. In the past 7 years I have lost my mother and uncle to cancer and Mom's youngest sister to Leukemia. Currently I have two friends fighting a cancer battle and one, unfortunately is terminal.
So I am asking for your support this year as I change gears from the cycling to the hiking team that is preparing to hike the Grand Canyon this fall. I am putting in the sweat equity and I ask for your "check equity" to help find an cure for blood cancers and cancer in general.
